Belk & Malibu
5-year-old
Spayed Female

Belk and her son Malibu are mourning the loss of their long-time San Francisco guardian, who passed away recently. So they aren't sure which way is up but are hoping that the future will be rosier. Malibu has had a tough history of abuse - that's why his eye is clouded. In fact, his story has attracted the attention of Oprah magazine (stay tuned for the June issue). Dubbed an "amazing cat," he is living to tell his tale. Belk is the wind beneath his wings, supporting her son and trying to keep her cool. These two are both affectionate and sweet.

Read about Malibu's story in the June issue of OPRAH magazine!

Cupcake
3-year-old
Spayed Female

Cupcake is a beautiful classic tabby. She is a bit on the shy side, but very gentle. In an orderly home, Cupcake is sure to become the apple of your eye. Her last people said she was a great house cat, ready to play and affectionate on her terms. Since Cupcake is also rather independent, maybe due to the variety of new homes she has had to adjust to, we feel she would be happiest in a home with no children, and no other cats. Queen of the roost!

Ideal Home: Best in home with grade school age children or older

Adopt Cupcake the cat and receive a baker's dozen of delicious cupcakes!

Crayola
4-year-old
Neutered Male

Seems our charming Crayola was a little bit of a bully at the feeding trough in his last home, even though he was a nice guy the rest of the time. So maybe you want to feed him in a different place from the rest of the cats. Or maybe he should be the only cat in your household. According to Crayola's former guardian he uses a scratching post and loves to be groomed. So the guy likes to eat at the expense of his cat pals. None of us is purrfect. But Crayola comes darn close!

Rainbow
11-year-old
Spayed Female

Rainbow couldn't be sweeter if she went to sugar school (whatever that means). Rainbow 's history isn't quite clear, but our best guess is that she came to us as a stray in 2005, was adopted to a very nice older woman, who is now unable to care for Rainbow through no fault other than the difficulties of living a good long life. Rainbow, on the other hand, is fit as a fiddle and ready for her next loving home.

Rainbow is (in order of "perfect 10-ness") affectionate, easy-going, and talkative. She would love to find another senior partner just like herself, someone to curl up with, who will brush her, talk to her, love her and live in this purrfect moment. If that doesn't sound like the meaning of life, Rainbow doesn't know what is.

Pluto
3-year-old
Neutered Male

ADOPTED!

Tangerine
1-year-old
Neutered Male

Tangerine came to us from Ukiah, where he exhibited more confidence than here in Marin, maybe the rarefied air of our beautiful county has him a little intimidated. Some cats are the life of the party, and some are, well, like Tangerine. Not that he doesn't like having a good time; he is just a little mousy at the moment, and will take him time to get to know you. Give Tangerine some time and space to roam around his new digs. Before you know it, his trust will build, and he will no longer be a cowardly lion. He'll have c-c-courage!

Monty
6-year-old
Neutered Male

Monty is a very cool guy who was found wandering the streets of San Rafael. He is a sweet, relaxed, loving gentleman who is ready for a change in life. He is very tolerant of handling and enjoys snuggling in your lap; however he can be a little suspicious and may hide under a chair when approached. Give this wonderful fellow a warm bed, toys and loving care and you will not regret it!

Lulu
5-year-old
Spayed Female

ADOPTED!

Yoda & Seeaytee
1-year-old
Spayed Female

Some cats are the life of the party, and some are, well, like Yoda. Not that she doesn't like having a good time; she is just a little mousy at the moment, and will take her time to get to know you. What Yoda really longs to be is (cue Bacharach, please) "Close to You." She also might like to be adopted with her best pal Seeaytee.  Give Yoda some time and space to roam around her new digs. Before you know it, her trust will build, and she will no longer be a cowardly lion. She'll have c-c-courage!

Seeaytee & Yoda
14-month-old
Neutered Male

Seeaytee is a cuddly, sweet boy who is a bit shy and uncertain in new situations, but once he's comfortable he's likely to be a wonderful lap cat who will follow you everywhere around the house (unless he's cuddling with Yoda, and we do suggest that you consider adopting them as a pair). Give this sweet boy a little time, and he'll want to stay with you forever!

Copper
1-year-old
Neutered Male

ADOPTED!

Redbone
1-year-old
Neutered Male

Redbone's guardian could no longer care for him, so this boy is looking for new digs. Since he lived with an elderly person, he is a bit noise sensitive and jittery. Otherwise, he is a perfect example of a male orange tabby. Before you know it, his trust will build, and he will no longer be a cowardly lion. He'll have c-c-courage!

His new home should not overwhelm him with loud noises and too much activity – if there are children in the house, we suggest they be older than 16).

Ideal Home: Best in home with high school age children or older

Wisteria
3-year-old
Spayed Female

Wisteria is a black beauty of a cat! She's very outgoing and confident and will do well in a household that has had some cat experience. Because she does reach a point where she's ready to call it quits with handling, she will do best with people who can read her signals. Wisteria loves to bump up against you for petting, and she'll talk to you when she's got a mind to do so. She likes playing with wand toys, and she'll love a scratching post for practicing her stretching exercises. Wisteria is sure to please you with her affectionate and outgoing nature!

Ideal Home: Best in home with grade school age children or older

Warren
4-year-old
Neutered Male

Warren passes the test: he's no girly man. He has a 'tude that won't quit, making him both so incredibly adorable and a bit of a handful. One moment, he's a love bug. The next, he'll let you know he's had enough. Or perhaps it's just time to have a staring contest with the dog. Warren certainly knows how to strut his stuff. Then again, that's why you want to adopt him, right? After prowling the streets of San Anselmo, he is ready for a comfortable, loving home and he'll be your buddy forever.

Ideal Home: Best in adult only home

Nicole
6-year-old
Spayed Female

Nicole has every right to be catty. She is, after all, cooped up in here while she could be window-shopping birds, or having a catnip lunch with girlfriends. Usually, beautiful Nicole is at ease either at play (Watch her fly across the room to nab a string toy!) or gazing into your eyes, taking catnaps on your chest. If she becomes a bit ornery, then you're probably asking her to do something she doesn't want to do. Firmness and a treat should bring back her sweet disposition. Nicole's previous owner let us know that she doesn't like other cats, so she may do best as the only cat in her new home. Take your time with her and she'll likely become a great friend!

Ideal Home: Best in home with grade school age children or older

Alice
2-year-old
Spayed Female

Go ask Alice what she thinks of kids, and she will hightail it out of the room. Give Alice an adult who knows how to understand a cat, and she's your friend anytime. Adults are predictable; Breakfast at 7, dinner at 6, a clean litterbox, playtime, and a warm lap to curl up in. But kids make her jittery and defensive.
All she wants is a loving, comfortable home with places to call her own, especially when it comes to her litter box placement, as she feels very private about this.

Ideal Home: Best in adult only home

Marcus
5-year-old
Neutered Male

Shy at first, you can win Marcus's heart with brushing and combing. Because it takes Marcus a little while to get his bearings and feel comfortable we suspect he'd rather live with adults and mature children who will help him adjust and bring him along into the family fold. Pet Pals who have spent time with Marcus will assure you he's worth every minute. This cat is like the "nice guy" everyone says they're waiting for. Anyone worth having in your life is worth waiting for.

Ideal Home: Best in home with high school age children or older

Sophia
5-year-old
Spayed Female

Mama Mia Sophia! What can we say or do to make you know we love you? Sophia is gentle and kind, but prefers to get to know you a little at a time. She's the sort of girl you need to court with flowers and sweet nothings. No bold Lotharios for genteel Sophia! HINT: She loves brushing. And boy can she use it. Sophia came to us with quite a few mats in her gorgeous coat. Regular brushing will solve this ongoing issue, which is great, because brushing will endear you to her forever. If you have a quiet household and are fond of sweet-tempered, if discerning cats, then you may have just found your match. Brava!

Ideal Home: Best in adult only home

Jersey
3-year-old
Spayed Female

This beautiful girl was a bit shy after her arrival, but soon found love and affection in the arms of our devoted Pet Pals. To quote one of Jersey's friends, "What a difference a week makes!" Apparently Jersey and friend had quite the love fest with purring, kneading and nudging all around. Because Jersey takes her time settling in we believe she would prefer a home with more mature, or even high school aged kids who will understand and help her with a gentle transition. Let the love fest begin!

Ideal Home: Best in home with high school age children or older

Skittles
2-year-old
Neutered Male

Skittles is yummy. Sweet, gentle and affectionate, he's everything you would want in a cat and more. Right now he's a little shy and it takes him a bit to warm up, but warm up he does. A good lap and copious head rubs is his idea of a good time, when he can close his eyes and purr to his heart's content. When rubbing his head, he'll collapse into your hand - sending both himself and human into seventh heaven.

Ideal Home: Best in home with grade school age children or older

Nikko
10-year-old
Neutered Male

Are you looking for a new best friend? Well, so is Nikko! This talkative cat loves people and will lean into you and give head butts for pets; more attention, please! Dont let his advanced age get you down ... Siamese cats generally live a nice long time - Nikko has many great years ahead of him. He is quite a character and he's certainly stolen our hearts - if you give him half a chance, he'll steal yours!

Ideal Home: Best in most any home

Scarlett & Petal
7-year-old
Spayed Females

Scarlett and her sister Petal are two lovely cats who have spent their lives together. Their owner was moving out of the country and couldn't keep them, so now they are ready to start their second life in a fairly calm household. They lived with two other cats and a dog, so they are quite comfortable being part of a multiple-pet home. Both girls are affectionate and talkative, and they enjoy being groomed. That's a good thing, because their long tabby coats will need daily combing to keep them free of tangles.

When you first bring them home give Scarlett and Petal a private suite of their own. Make it cozy with bedding, toys, a scratching post, food and water, and a litterbox. Give them plenty of TLC and a little time to adjust and they'll soon begin exploring their new surroundings. And you'll soon discover that you've made a great choice for feline companionship.

Carnation
7-month-old
Spayed Female

Please meet Carnation, a sweet young cat who is going to make some lucky family very happy! Super friendly, with a great big purr this is a cat who will warm your heart for a long time.

When you bring little Carnation home, do kitten proof your house a bit, she is a great explorer and likes to jump up on counters, shelving and any other pieces of furniture she may find.  A nice scratching post will redirect this energy and keep her climbing muscles in trim.

If you are looking for a gentle, loving, playful kitty, please check out Carnation!

Ideal Home: Best in most any home

Shim
14-month-old
Neutered Male

Please check out Shim, what a character he is!  His previous family reports that he is super affectionate and liked to sleep in bed with them at night. He has been given the freedom to go in and out an open window at night, but we feel now he is neutered that he will be quite content to stay in the safe comfort of his new home.

We found him to be a fine conversationalist with a purr thrown in for good measure.  This is a cat with some interesting preferences; he is reported to like green olives and taking baths, as long as the water isn't running!!

Although he has lived with other cats and a dog, we feel he will be most pleased to become the treasured, stress free, only cat in your life. This guy is a treasure, check him out!
