Hansel
3-month-old
Neutered Male
American Rabbit

Hansel and Gretel are so in love! And you will be too once you spend some time with them. Both were brought here by their owner, but no information was given. In fact, they hadn't even named them! So now this lovely couple is looking for a family that will adopt them and give them the love and attention they deserve. Both of these two are really sweet and would be fine for a family that's new to having rabbits. Hansel and Gretel are pretty mellow and enjoy just hanging out. Both of these rabbits are very sweet and should settle in nicely with any family.

Take a chance on me!

Gretel
2-month-old
Spayed Female
American Rabbit

Gretel and Hansel are both sweet, curious and outgoing (Hansel more so). These two are going to make a great addition to the family that adopts them. Gretel and Hansel enjoy hanging out together. We've gotten many smiles as they groom each other, spoon together and run, hop and do Bunny Binky's. Rabbits prefer to have a friend and are much happier when not living all alone. Both are easy to pick-up and tolerate being held for short periods of time. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make and not one to be taken lightly. But, really, we know you can tell they are worth it!

The Brady Bunch
Adult

King Pigeons

Fortunately for The Brady Bunch, there is a great bird rescue group called MickaBoo. They are frequently asked to take in King Pigeons that can no longer be kept by their families, or are left somewhere. Right now they have so many they asked us to take in some. We were glad to since we had the room. So now Mike, Carol, Greg, Marcia, Peter, Jan, Bobby and Cindy are ready to leave MHS and go home with loving caretakers. King Pigeons are extremely calm birds and can be tamed and learn to accept handling. Kings can live either indoors or outdoors. Most live to be about 8 years old. Listen for a few minutes and you'll start to relax!

Maria
Adult
Female
Budgie

Both Maria and her new friend Malia came to us as strays. Because they are domesticated a life "in the wild" would have been very difficult for them. Now they are safe and looking forward to a family to adopt them. Budgies, on average, can live to be 15-20 years old. Both of these girls appear to be young so their new family should be ready to make a big commitment. Even though these two live in a cage they still need daily attention. Talking to them is an easy way to remind them that they are loved. Budgies make great additions to a home. With their beautiful chatter and singing you'll definitely be calmer! Spend some time with Maria and Malia. You'll soon realize why so many people enjoy having Budgies as pets! (See Malia's card for more care information.)

Malia
Adult
Female
Budgie

Malia came to us as a stray. She was a little scraggly looking but now she has blossomed into a beautiful Budgie. And, she has a new best friend Maria. They are both much happier with someone to talk and sing to. If you aren't sure about how to care for these two, ask to put them "on hold" while you do some research. Even though these two are small, they need a big amount of care and attention. But they are definitely worth it! (See Maria's card for more care information.)

Mozart
Young
Male
Rex Rabbit

Beautiful Mozart comes to us from our Pet Partner shelter in Madera. He's a young rabbit who may not have had too much socialization with people, but he's certainly had enough to know how to behave politely under pressure. Mozart, like many rabbits, does not want you to pick him up if you are unfamiliar to him. Most of us can relate. : ) The irony is, Mozart is so soft, how could you NOT want to pick him up! Also like most bunnies, Mozart's favorite thing is to have space to run and explore. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make, and not one to be taken lightly. Mozart will repay that commitment with the music that is bunny love.

Angelina & Miss Alexandra
Adult, Spayed Female
English Spot Rabbit

Both sweet, curious and outgoing (Angelina more so) these two are going to make a great addition to the family that adopts them. Angelina and her best friend Shiloh enjoy hanging out together. Ask to spend some time with them. We are sure you'll be smitten by them like we have been!

Miss Alexandra & Angelina
Adult, Spayed Female
English Spot Rabbit

Of the two Shiloh is a little more shy. Although in time we think she'll be just as outgoing and curious as Angelina. Both of these girls are really sweet and would be fine for a family that's new to having rabbits. Both of these rabbits are very sweet and should settle in nicely with any family. Keep in mind that rabbits are very delicate. Children should be taught how to properly pet and interact with rabbits. If not held properly they can easily be injured. (Please read Angelina's card for more information.)

SCUBA

Rosemary
Adult
Spayed Female
American Rabbit

Rosemary is sweet, curious and outgoing - she is going to make a great addition to the family that adopts her. Rosemary is easy to pick-up and tolerates being held for short periods of time. As with most bunnies, her favorite thing is to have space to run and explore. A variety of toys is something else she will enjoy and proper chewing items are good for her. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make and not one to be taken lightly.

Turbo
Adult
Male
Guinea Pig

Turbo and O'Brian are going to make a great addition to the family that adopts them. Unlike most piggies, these two are pretty easy to pick-up. Of course they prefer not to be, but if done patiently and slowly they stay pretty calm. And, once placed on laps they settle down quickly. This is the best place to socialize...on a lap where lots of petting and scratching on their heads can be done. Turbo was very well socialized but wasn't being properly cared for. So, he was brought here to find a more suitable family to live with. Turbo and O’Brian are bonded and must be adopted together. But that's a good thing. GP's are considerably happier when they have a friend .. just like people! These two still have plenty of time to give their new family lots of love. (See O'Brian's card for more care/feeding information.)

O'Brian
1-year-old
Male
Guinea Pig

O'Brian and Turbo are so sweet and cute! As with all GP's it's best to go slow, especially with O'Brian. That will put them more at ease, being prey animals they can get scared very easily. Spend some time with these two boys. You'll see why so many families love to have GP's be part of theirs! (See Turbo's card for more care information.)

Fish
4- Male & 1- Female
Molly

ADOPTED!

Hopper
9-month-old
Neutered Male
Holland Lop Rabbit

Hopper is so cute and we just love his markings. He's a good example of what happens when a rabbit isn't socialized daily. His family got him from some relatives. But they realized that they weren't giving him proper care. So they brought him here, which is good because we can help educate his next family about the care he needs and deserves. He lived outside in a hutch. This is a horrible life for a rabbit for many reasons. The main reason is that they "out of sight, out of mind". Which translates to creating a rabbit like Hopper: shy, skittish, doesn't like to be picked-up. These are the reasons that rabbits should be part of the family and live indoors. Now the great thing about Hopper is that he's getting more used to being picked-up and being around people. He's actually a very, very mellow bunny who LOVES to have room to stretch out in. In our Rabbit Romper Room he wasn't so much interested in toys as he was with room to run and hop! If his new family spends time with him every day we are sure he'll be more social very soon. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make, and not one to be taken lightly. Spend some time with Hopper. You'll be charmed by him like we have been!

ARI

Ari
4-year-old
Neutered Male
Holland Lop Rabbit

Ari and Emil are two very sweet boys that need a patient family to adopt them. They are both pretty easy to pick-up, enjoy being petted and did well during their nail trim. (Emil is the easier of the two to pick-up.) They were in a foster home where they were mellow and easygoing. The foster mom has several Basset Hound's and one of them really liked these two. They both could have cared less about the dogs! The one Basset that fell for them even gave them daily licks .. which they also didn't mind. How cute is that? Rabbits prefer to have a friend and are much happier when not living all alone. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make and not one to be taken lightly. But, we are sure that these two are worth it.

Emil
3-year-old
Neutered Male
Holland Lop Rabbit

Of these two Emil is a little bit easier to pick-up. These two are part of a large group of rabbits that were dumped by the side of the road. Not the best place for domesticated rabbits to be! Both of these boys are really sweet and should be fine for a family that's new to having rabbits. They were a little interested in toys in Rabbit Romper Room but more interested in chewing the wicker toys. They will need to be out of their x-pen at least 2-3 hours a day for running around time. Both of these rabbits are very sweet and should settle in nicely with any family. Keep in mind that rabbits are very delicate. Children should be taught how to properly pet and interact with rabbits. If not held properly they can easily be injured. (Please read Ari's card for more information.)

Cinderella
6-month-old
Spayed Female
Lop Eared Rabbit

Sweet and adorable Cinderella is looking for a castle to call her own! She is, like most rabbits, curious and busy. She would also thrive in a quiet household. Her new family needs to go nice and slow with her. But we are pretty sure that once she's comfortable she'll be a lot more outgoing and social! Cinderella is pretty easy to pick-up (she's still getting used to it) and enjoys being petted. Overall she is very mellow and likes to just hang out. In Rabbit Romper Room she enjoyed running around and finding a quiet spot to lay out in. She wasn't too interested in toys but should still be offered them. Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make, and not one to be taken lightly. But, just look at this beautiful bunny and you'll see that she's worth the time and energy!

Tink
4-year-old
Female
Rabbit

Tink has become a favorite of several volunteers here. She's such a love and is much happier since arriving at MHS. Tink is easy to pick-up, ok with being held and is most comfortable sitting on your lap. She's also very easy to give a nail trim too. Tink will need to have a healthy diet in order to stay fit and trim. She still has many more years of love to give to her new family. Ask to meet this volunteer (and staff) favorite. We think you'll see quickly why so many people love Tink!

Willow
Adult
Male
Rabbit

Willow is a beautiful young rabbit, a bit shy, but still in that phase where he can be charmed into relaxing and enjoying the company of people. He accepts being picked up, but he will need a family with a consistent routine, and even a little patience while he settles in and gets to know everyone. Willow's living space should allow him to hop around, stretch out, and even explore a little. Daily ventures in bunny-proof spaces, supervised by you will build his confidence and trust, and provide him with much needed mental and physical exercise. Giving Willow toys to nudge and wicker objects to chew will keep him exercised in all the right ways. He'll also enjoy boxes and tunnels to hide in. Change up his toys periodically to keep his mind stimulated. With the right care this lovely rabbit could live to be 10 to 12 years old. Bunny's make wonderful longtime companions!

Redford & Newman
1-year-old
Male
Rat

Redford and his friend Newman are two really nice rats. These handsome boys with their soft Rex fur and are easy to pick-up and hold. Both are outgoing and looking forward to getting lots of attention. This pair is going to make a great addition to the family that adopts them. Both are calm and ok with being held or riding on shoulders. Daily attention and handling will keep them social. Ask to meet Redford and Newman. You'll fall in love with both of them! (See Newman's card for more care information.)

Newman & Redford
1-year-old
Male
Rat

Newman and Redford are sure to calm anyone that hangs out with them. Their soft fur will guarantee that! And they will provide their new family with many hours of antics to watch. They are outgoing, easy to pick-up/hold and gentle. They should have time outside of their cage daily for socializing. Rats love to be up on shoulders and to roam. Just make sure they can't get into any tight hiding places. Ask to meet these two .. we are sure you'll fall in love with them! (See Redford's card for more information about their care.)

Lorenzo
Adult
Neutered Male
Lop Eared Rabbit

Lorenzo is such a handsome and active bunny. Like a lot of bunnies he really doesn't like
Being picked-up. But, you can't blame him. Being a prey animal he's much more comfortable on the ground! Right now he's very active and will need lots of running space. He loves exploring and checking out every inch of his enclosure. He's fine getting a nail trim and enjoys being petted. But that's only when he feels like taking a break from running around! In Rabbit Room he was interested in toys and should be given a variety of them to play with. Rabbits need time outside of their enclosure to burn off energy and to kick up their feet! Keep in mind that if properly cared for, rabbits can live to be 10-12 years old. That's a big commitment for a family to make, and not one to be taken lightly. But, just look at this beautiful bunny and you'll see that he's worth the time and energy!

Kyle & Eric
6-month-old
Male
Budgie

Kyle was a stray bird that was eventually brought here. We were lucky to find him a new friend. He is so much happier that Eric is now in his life. If you rent, make sure that birds are allowed. These two like to sing and talk a lot. You'll want to make sure your neighbors won't mind. Even though these two are small, they need a big amount of care and attention. But they are definitely worth it! (See Eric's card for more care information.)

Eric & Kyle
4-month-old
Male
Budgie

Eric came from the Petaluma Shelter as a stray. We thought he would like a friend and he and Kyle fell in bird love the minute we put them together! They were so happy to have a friend to sing and talk to. Budgies, on average, can live to be 15-20 years old. Both of these boys are very young so their new family should be ready to make a big commitment. Even though these two live in a cage they still need daily attention. Talking to them is an easy way to remind them that they are loved. Budgies make great additions to a home. With their beautiful chatter and singing you'll definitely be calmer! Spend some time with Eric and Kyle. You'll soon realize why so many people enjoy having Budgies as pets! (See Kyle's card for more care information.)
