Grrrr! Learn How To Defuse Canine Confrontations

Marin Humane Society offers workshop on dog-to-dog aggression

(NOVATO, CALIF., June 1, 2006) — Dog-to-dog aggression is a complex problem that spans all canine breeds and both genders. Learn why some dogs have an extra feistiness in their step at the “Dog-to-Dog Aggression” workshop on Sunday, June 18 from 1–4 pm in the Marin Humane Society auditorium (171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato). Trish King, director of behavior and training and author of the bestselling book Parenting Your Dog, will present why dogs become aggressive toward other dogs, how to identify and defuse potential problems, and behavior modification techniques.

This workshop is suitable for both dog guardians and professionals who want to better understand canine aggression and how to prevent problems. “There are many reasons why a dog may be inappropriately aggressive toward other dogs,” says King. “Because canine aggression is so complex, and the potential consequences are so serious, we highly recommend this workshop if your dog is displaying aggressive behavior.”

“Dog-to-Dog Aggression” is open to the public and costs $35 to attend. Please register in advance by calling (415) 506-6280. This workshop is for people only; please leave your dogs at home.
