Fun for the whole family – Fido, too! – at the Marin Humane Society Birthday Bash and Dog Walk!

Celebrating all animals with host Celeste Perry of 106.9 KFRC

(NOVATO, CALIF. , September 11, 2008) — The Marin Humane Society is 101 years old! Families, friends and their canine companions are invited to celebrate at the MHS Birthday Bash and Dog Walk Saturday, September 27 from 10am–3pm at the Marin Humane Society (171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd, Novato). Join master of ceremonies Celeste Perry of 106.9 KFRC for a fun-filled day of activities for people and pooches of all ages. Entry is free of charge.

Schedule of Events:

10:00am – Dog Walk to benefit the shelter animals
10:30am – Agility Demonstrations
11:20am – Small Dog/Large Dog contests
12:15pm – Best Trick contest
12:45pm – Birthday cake
1:00pm – Look Alike contest
1:45pm – Best Catch contest
2:20pm – Best Wag contest

Showcase your pets’ talents in our canine contests, and then spoil your pooch with a soothing dog wash. Bring your children to the Kid’s Zone, complete with jumpy jumps, games, and art projects. Watch canine agility demonstrations; meet farm and small companion animals and have your pet’s portrait done by a professional photographer or caricaturist. Plus, check out pet-related exhibits, enjoy tasty food and drink — and save room for a piece of birthday cake!

Birthday festivities begin with an optional Dog Walk around Bel Marin Keys at 10am to raise money for the shelter animals. Registration fee for the walk is $25.
