Feline Forty-Niners debut at Marin Humane Society

Adopt a cat from MHS for $49!

(NOVATO, CALIF., August 26, 2008) — Adopt a cat from the Marin Humane Society (171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato) September 5 – 7 and save more than $100 off the adoption fee. The special $49 adoption fee – for cats one year and older – includes a pre-adoption medical and behavior evaluation, feline leukemia and FIV testing, vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, microchip and a free post adoption behavior consultation. The “Felines for $49” campaign is part of an effort by MHS to increase adult cat adoptions during kitten season.

Adult cats feel the most immediate effects of kitten season as they are often overlooked by potential adopters when irresistible youngsters are in abundance. The Marin Humane Society has dozens of wonderful adult cats waiting patiently for loving homes.

“Adult cats are just as cute and cuddly as their younger counterparts,” says MHS Director of Shelter Services Keri Fennell. “We hope that the Felines for $49 promotion will be just the incentive needed for people to add a new feline friend to their family.”
