Marin Humane Society Executive Director Elected to Board of Directors for the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators

Neil Trent joins elite group of animal welfare professionals

(NOVATO, CALIF., December 10, 2007) — Neil Trent, Executive Director of the Marin Humane Society, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the prestigious Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA).

Mr. Trent brings more than 30 years of international experience in the animal protection field to SAWA, a nonprofit professional association for leaders in the humane movement. He is an internationally recognized animal protection champion and has worked on six of the seven continents to improve the lives of animals. Mr. Trent joined the Marin Humane Society as Executive Director in July 2007.

“I am honored to join this venerable group of animal welfare professionals,” says Trent. “SAWA is the pivotal organization that is uniting and pursuing the growth and prestige of our industry. Working closely with the Board, I look forward to promoting humane ideals and a professional approach to management of animal welfare agencies.”
