Field Services Technician
- Part Time (16 hrs/week)
- Starting Salary: $16 per hour. Benefits*
- Position open until filled
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Remove dead wildlife from private and public property.
- Pick up and deliver records, documents and other items throughout the county.
- Pick up owner relinquished animals and transport them to the shelter.
- Transport and dispose of dead wildlife and domestic animals at the shelter.
- Clean and sanitize animal services vehicles and maintain their professional appearance.
- Clean and sanitize animal services equipment.
- Restock animal services vehicles.
- Produce accurate records and reports on appropriate forms for statistical information.
- Identify various species of wildlife common to Marin County.
- Transport sick, injured and orphaned wildlife on occasion.
- Be pleasant, courteous and tactful with the public at all times.
- Represent Marin Humane Society in a professional manner.
- Communicate on a two-way radio and cell phone and receive calls through a dispatch system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Accumulated knowledge of and compassion for domestic animals and wildlife.
- Ability to routinely lift and carry 75 pounds.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be flexible and capable of working both independently and as a member of a team.
- Must be available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
- Rabies immunization required (provided by MHS).
- Basic computer skills.
