Dog Parks Not Always Fun-N-Games For Fido

Humane Society Workshop Unleashes "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" About Dog Parks

(NOVATO, CALIF., August 7, 2006) — At their best, dog parks function as a social and exercise center for pets and their people. But the potential for problems exists. Trish King, director of behavior and training and author of the bestselling book Parenting Your Dog, will present "Dog Parks - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" on Sunday, August 13 from 1-4 pm in the Marin Humane Society auditorium (171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato).

“Dog parks are a fun and easy way to exercise and socialize our dogs, but they also can be harmful to future behavior,” says King, “This workshop will explore potential behavior issues and provide guardians with the information they need to determine whether their dog is a good candidate for the dog park.”

“Dog Parks - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly” is open to the public and costs $35 to attend. Please register in advance by calling (415) 506-6280. This workshop is for people only; please leave your dogs at home.
