Marin Humane Society Celebrates June as Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month

Last year’s kittens need homes!

(NOVATO, CALIF., June 2, 2008) — The Marin Humane Society is celebrating June as Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month. Every spring and summer, millions of kittens flood animal shelters across the country. Adult cats feel the most immediate effects of kitten season as they are often overlooked by potential adopters when irresistible youngsters are in abundance. The Marin Humane Society currently has dozens of wonderful adult cats waiting patiently for loving homes.

“During kitten season it becomes much more difficult to adopt our adult cats,” says MHS Director of Shelter Services Keri Fennell. “Adorable kittens easily tug at our heartstrings, but adult cats are just as cute and cuddly as their younger counterparts.”
