The Grass Really is Greener at the Marin Humane SocietyMHS opens new dog parks on campus (NOVATO, CALIF., May 31, 2007) Marin County canines will be wagging their tails with delight this weekend as the Marin Humane Society officially opens its new dog parks and corner lot facilities! MHS will use the new parks for adoption dog socialization, family introductions, training classes and special events. The public is also invited to enjoy the parks by joining the MHS Dog Park Club. The new facilities include 75 parking spaces, two parks for large and small dogs, water faucets for people and dogs, benches, play boulders and a plaza area with fountain. “The new corner lot facilities were designed to meet the growing needs of our guests and Humane Society programs and services,” says MHS Assistant Executive Director John Reese. “We are thrilled with the completed project and now look forward to our next task renovating our 40-year-old shelter facility.” The opening of the dog parks coincides with the Humane Society’s Centennial Birthday Bash celebration on Sunday, June 3. Information on how to join the MHS Dog Park Club will be available at the Birthday Bash, and Dog Park Club applications may be downloaded from the MHS Web site beginning June 4. The MHS Dog Park Club is FREE to Marin residents with limited enrollment of 200 members. |
