Pet Food Supply Is Critically Low!
Marin Humane has organized a Holiday Pet Food Drive to replenish critically low supplies of pet food that supports low-income pet guardians in Marin. Donations will be used to deliver much-needed supplies to the MHS SHARE (Special Human-Animal Relationships) clients and provide help to dozens of others in need each month.
How to help:
Donate Pet Food: Canned cat and dog food as well as small bags of dry cat and dog food.
Donate New Dog or Cat Toys
Donate Gift Cards: Gift cards to Safeway, Target, Pet Food Express and other retailors that sell pet food are especially helpful.
Purchase items through GOODdler to be shipped directly to the MHS SHARE program
All donations can be brought to our two locations. The Marin Humane Main Campus in Novato or Kitty Corner in San Anselmo.
While donations are always accepted we are in urgent need of supplies now.
The Pet Care Assistance program is the largest part of SHARE and assists 228 low-income seniors (and their more than 300 companion animals) and others in need with pet food deliveries, transportation to the veterinarian, dog walking, pet grooming, litter box maintenance and emergency boarding of pets in the event of a client’s hospitalization. Networking with other service organizations in the county is vital to coordinating assistance to the growing number of older adults in Marin.
The Pet Care Assistance program is funded entirely by donations and grants and supported by more than 20 program volunteers. Donations of pet food and supplies as well as financial contributions from the public are a vital part of the program. Volunteers with our Pet Meals on Wheels program deliver these donated supplies to clients of the Pet Care Assistance program and other needy individuals year-round.
