Campus Facilities & Dog Parks

The Marin Humane Society is located on 7.5 acres in Marin County. The sprawling grounds have an established landscape with parks, walking spaces, fountains, and ample free parking. Our dog parks are available for public use during specified hours and a number of campus facilities, including the auditorium, classroom, conference room, pavilion and kitchen are available for community use.

MHS Dog Parks
We welcome you and your well-behaved canine companions to enjoy our dog parks during specified public-use hours, subject to the dog park rules.

Please note that we will occasionally reserve the dog parks during public hours for special events or maintenance. To preserve the integrity of the turf, we have to close the parks during inclement weather. Typically we close the parks during and a few days following rains. Please check this page or call 415.506.6250 for up-to-date information regarding park closures.

The current status of the Marin Humane Society dog parks is:

Small Dog Park is OPEN
Large Dog Park is CLOSED

The Marin Humane Society Large Dog Park will be closed for essential turf maintenance from Tuesday, May 1 through Monday, May 21.

We will have no play options for large dogs (over 25 pounds) on campus during that time.

Other nearby Dog Parks for large dogs include:
DOGBONE Meadows at O’Hair Park,
Novato
McDog at McInnis Park, San Rafael
Field of Dogs at the Civic Center, San Rafael

The Small Dog Park will remain open during regular hours for small dogs only (25 pounds and under).

We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.
