The companionship of a dog or cat in a home is a source of comfort and joy. But sometimes, our animal companions may need a little “Oh BeHAVE” in their lives! The Marin Humane Society’s Behavior & Training Department offers two Senior Specials to help pet guardians maintain a harmonious home.
This four week class is designed to provide basic dog training tools, management and ideas on proper equipment. We also share tricks and tips on how to exercise your companion dog for peak mental and physical health. The class size is limited to four clients with two trainers, to provide the highest level of instruction.

In-home consultations are designed to provide ideas for managing the dog’s environment and home life plus tips for training, grooming and pet health care. This visit can be tailored to the client’s needs, with notes and recommendations transcribed and sent to the client following the appointment. A pre-screening phone call from the consultant will be made with the client ahead of time. Contact our Behavior & Training Department to make an appointment.
In-home consultations are also available for feline companions.
For more information on either of these Senior Specials or to schedule an In-Home Visit please call 415.506.6280 or email the behavior department.
These programs and specials are for seniors (62 and older) and people with disabilities.
The expert advice offered by the senior training team has
been invaluable. Our headstrong shepherd's behavior has improved
significantly thanks to the team's help in our own home where solutions for
specific behavior problems could be addressed.
